De Volksbank is the parent company of SNS, ASN Bank, RegioBank and BLG Wonen. As a bank with over 3 million customers, we want to distinguish ourselves through our social impact. And in doing so, banking is about more than just money. It is a way of being of value. Not only for our own organization and employees, our customers or our shareholder. But for society as a whole. In many places in the Netherlands, all year round. Together we invest in a better Netherlands. Our customers notice this every day. It is not for nothing that ASN Bank, RegioBank and SNS were voted the three most customer-friendly banks in the Netherlands in 2023. A great result of which we are proud. It just goes to show that a strong relationship with customers and the desire to make a difference to society go hand in hand. Banking matters are ultimately people matters. And that is exactly what we and all our colleagues at Volksbank continue to work hard on: banking on a human scale. Below you can read how we do that.
Highest scores in Fair Bank Guide
The Eerlijke Bankwijzer (Fair Bank Guide) announced in May 2023 that de Volksbank and its brands SNS, ASN Bank, RegioBank and BLG Wonen again have the highest green scores of all banks in the Netherlands. The Eerlijke Bankwijzer (Fair Bank Guide) is an independent benchmark that shows how sustainable banks are. The study consists of an assessment on the themes of taxes, animal welfare, gender equality, climate change, human rights, nature and weapons. Volksbank scored highest on all themes.
Most customer-friendly bank: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place
The most customer-friendly bank. You don’t become one overnight. For that you need sincere attention. For all your customers. Day in, day out. Despite their own unique profile, ASN Bank, RegioBank and SNS have this in common. And that is seen. Because for the second year in a row, we have been voted number 1, 2 and 3 in the independent election of the most customer-friendly bank in the Netherlands. Something we are enormously proud of.

In 2025, we want to be the bank with the strongest customer relationship and the greatest, proven social impact. In everything we do, we ask ourselves: how will Dutch society benefit? Indeed, as a whole. Because it is precisely as a bank, with all our employees, four banking brands, our customers and everyone around us, that we can play a pioneering role.
Connected to society for more than 200 years
Making an impact. We’ve been doing that since we emerged from regional savings banks 200 years ago. To take good care of Dutch people’s money. That social origin, rooted in the local community, is our strength. As is involvement in and connection with society – and with each other. Today we focus on consumers, independent entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses. We do so primarily in the areas of payments, savings and mortgages.
Note: de Volksbank is a Dutch bank and therefore, unfortunately, we can only hire Dutch-speaking students for internships or graduate studies.
