‘Ultimately, participation in the EBT led to a very fun and educational internship and a larger network.’

Name: Jean-Dré Damoiseaux

Function: Supply Chain Logistics intern at PepsiCo

Former studies: BSc Business Economics and MSc Supply Chain Management at Tilburg University

Jean-Dré’s experiences with the EBT:

After the second year of my bachelor’s in Business Economics I already had the preference for doing the Master Supply Chain Management after my bachelor. However, I wanted to find an internship in this direction to see if it suits me as well in practice as the courses in my study did. The EBT was the perfect opportunity to attend presentations related to my interests since it is exactly indicated to which directions companies offer opportunities. In addition, it is a very suitable event if you want to get in touch with companies if you are looking for work or an trainee/internship. After attending the Company Presentation of PepsiCo and a short conversation with one of their recruiters during the EBT about the possibilities for me at PepsiCo, I applied for one of their internship positions. Eventually, this resulted in an internship as a Supply Chain and Logistics intern at PepsiCo which was the perfect preparation for my Master!

With over 24 successful editions of the EBT, many students have found their employers through one of the many activities organized during the event! In this Career Starter Post, Georgeena Regan will share her experiences with the EBT and how the event helped her in her career.

Name: Georgeena Regan

Former Studies: Bsc. International Business Administration , Msc. Finance and Msc. Strategic Management: Consultancy (all at Tilburg University)

Georgeena’s experience with the EBT:

I was doubting whether I should pursue a career within finance or consulting. The EBT allowed me to visit companies and attend activities in both directions. This gave me a better impression of my preferences and allowed me to make a better choice. I visited various companies during the Consultancy Experience and I very much liked the event organized by Monitor Deloitte.

The EBT gave me a structured and clear view on what company I want to work at, as well as what function best fits me. This allowed me to focus on acquiring a position at Monitor Deloitte, which eventually led to my current employment as Junior Consultant within the M&A Strategy team.

With over 24 successful editions of the EBT, many students have found their employers through one of the many activities organized during the event! In this Career Starter Post, Edina Santhi will share her experiences with the EBT and how the event helped her in her career.

‘The participation really helped me to get to know what the company values are and whether my own values and ideals align with them.’

Edina’s experience with the EBT:

I was looking for an internship to do as part of my bachelor program in IBA, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to find one. It really helped me to get to know what the company values are and whether my own values and ideals align with them. This also helped me a lot during the interview process!

It is never too early to start working towards your future, don’t let people tell you otherwise. During my first EBT, I got to talk with young professionals from the fields I was interested in and through that, found out what they did during their studies to end up where they are now. I am honestly really happy with how it is going so far and I’m very much looking forward to what the next edition of the EBT could bring!

Cas’ experiences with the EBT:

While I was orienting myself on the job market after my Master’s degree, the EBT offered a very broad and interesting selection of companies and activities to do this. I met Boer & Croon for the first time at the EBT. The event is an easy, informal, low-stakes way to meet companies compared to starting an official application process. The one-on-one interview and the business case were an amazing opportunity to gain insight on the people, expertise, and culture of Boer & Croon, and I was sold immediately. I was invited to participate in a business course for two days in Amsterdam, and a month later I signed the contract. EBT is an incredibly valuable event to students. It gave me the means to find and connect to the best company suited for me!

For me the EBT 2021 really helped me to get to know different companies. I did not only learn about the work activities, but also about the work environment. The work environment was very important to me and was determining my choice. During the EBT I participated in the Big Four Accountancy Experience. That is where I met PwC, where I am currently doing an internship. My participation in the Economic Business weeks Tilburg 2021 was very successful and I believe that it can be a  great opportunity for any student to find an internship or even a starter’s position.”

Every year, starting from 2014 until 2020, I have attended the EBT.’

Function: Junior Consultant at SeederDeBoer

Former studies: BSc International Business Administration & MSc Accountancy (Tilburg University)

Noor’s experience with the EBT:

“Every year, starting from 2014 until 2020, I have attended the EBT. After my master Accountancy I was not sure if I wanted to proceed in the field of accounting. My interest had grown in the strategic decision making process of a firm and in the implementation: how to move an idea from concept to reality?

By participating in the EBT I knew that I could get in touch with various companies, explore what they offer as a service and as an employer, to help me find the right fit. I attended a workshop and presentation from SeederDeBoer. Both were very positive impressions which made me enthusiastic about the work of a consultant at SeederDeBoer and motivated me to apply for their traineeship.”
